ABOUT
East View Cottage
East View Cottage is a traditional 17th century Derbyshire Peak District cottage, simple and cosy, with log fires and beamed ceilings. Positioned in the Townhead area of Eyam and perfect for escaping the stresses of everyday life with front door access to some beautiful walks to nearby villages, moors and edges.
We’ve added some touches of luxury and the best bits of modern living with pure cotton bed linen and down filled duvets and pillows; wi-fi Internet, television with Netflix and a mini sound system with bluetooth connection to listen to your favorite playlists.
Children and one/two well behaved dogs are welcome.
East View Cottage is handily located on the edge of the historic and pictureque village of Eyam, just a short walk from the shops, visitor attractions, cafes and pub. Out of the gate and turn left onto a footpath that takes you through farmland and unspoilt bluebell woods up onto the gritstone edge for stunning views and bracing walks across to Hathersage, along to Bretton and The Barrel Inn or loop back to Eyam Village via Mompesson's Well.
As you approach this charming cottage there is a pretty front forecourt garden with a table and seating area.
THE GALLERY
The Ground Floor
Once through the entrance door you are straight into a lovely, very well equipped, farmhouse style kitchen with Lacanche range cooker, Le Creuset pans and vintage Hornsea china. There is a real rustic feel to this room with its stone flagged floor, original ceiling beam, farmhouse table and large original gritstone feature fireplace. Off the kitchen is a handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer; a toilet, sink and space for boots and coats. Beyond the kitchen there is a doorway into a cosy, comfortable, lounge with window seat looking down the road towards the village and a large open fireplace. In the lounge there is a router for wi-fi internet connection together with a television including Netflix, a mini sound system with wired or bluetooth connections, local OS maps and local information with a selection of books, puzzles and some childrens toys.
The First Floor
A staircase leads to the first floor which has a family bathroom with bath/shower, and two pretty cottage bedrooms. The first is a cosy double with window seat and period features, with space for a cot (available at cottage) if required. The second is a triple room with one king-size bed and a single bed.
Both bedrooms have window seats looking down towards the village.
There is a travel cot available, a bed guard and stair gates all of which will be set up when requested.
